Meaningful Moments Through Community Visits

Over the past few weeks, we have enjoyed some truly special visits from our local nursery and the Home-Start Parent and Toddler Nurture Group, bringing a wonderful sense of energy to our sessions.

Our care home in Perth has been buzzing with activities, including our large-scale games that were a particular highlight, with the giant parachute and balloon play creating moments of excitement and fun for all ages. These shared experiences demonstrates how powerful intergenerational connections can be. In fact, a 2026 UK study of 65 care homes found that 80% of staff felt shared activities with children and young people helped to reduce loneliness and isolation among residents.

We also celebrated National Baking Day by making delicious top hat cupcakes together, followed by a creative sensory art activity. Using bubble wrap attached to jars, we created beautiful hydrangea flower prints, bringing a touch of summer into our artwork.

We have also loved spending time with our local Beaver and Cub groups. Earlier this spring, we worked together to plant bulbs and make bird feeders, helping to welcome more nature into our garden and encouraging curiosity about the world around us.

These visits are about much more than the activities themselves, as they create opportunities for friendships, shared memories and moments of genuine happiness within the community. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful connections we continue to build with our community and look forward to welcoming everyone back again soon.
